2024This little sculpture is made from a rest piece of bluestone. In its shape a face was outlined, that shape has been worked out in a stylized manner.
Eye
2024This little sculpture is made from a rest piece of marble. The shape of the s culpture is largely the same as the initial shape, the hole in the center is the most radical intervention. In the form I found movement that I tried to strengthen.

Figure 2023
2023A small sculpture, made from a scrap piece of marble, with a striking progression of veins and colours.
Goddess
2023A sculpture made from the wood of an American spruce that was felled in my neighbourhood and of which I was granted to use a large piece. After about a year I started cutting it, it turned out to be full of insect corridors, after they were cut away a rough shape remained that became the basis for the sculpture. I have further elaborated the form and have given it the name Goddess. The wood turned out to be difficult to work because it breaks easily perpendicular to the grain and because it has wide growth rings that run from hard to very soft. This made the surface difficult to smoothing.
Wings
2022Cantilevers suggest dynamism, the thickness of the marble has been reduced to a few millimetres.
Flower

Welcome
2020Started from a very complex piece of olive wood I searched for a shape inside which resulted in the current shape. The shape inspired me to express a character welcoming its visitor(s). As usual for my work the sculpture is the result of a dialogue between me and the material.
Unification 2020
2020A boulder of granite, transformed into a soft form full of emotion.
Waves
2020Small sculpture of alabaster, in which most of the stone has remained unworked, the worked part fills the space at the top. The interpretation is entirely up to the viewer, the title is only a hint.
Sitting 2020
2020Give your own title to this work, which originated from the original stone, I came to Sitting because you can see a seated person in it, but it can also be interpreted very differently. Made of serpentine.
Movement 2020
2020Soapstone. The shape is entirely inspired by the shape of the original stone, the title was added at the last.
Entanglement 2020
2020This sculpture was created entirely from the stone without a preconceived plan. A form of entangled movements developed, without translating it exactly into recognizable shapes. It is up to the viewer to interpret them.
Whale 2020
2020Small sculpture, 13 cm high, expression of movement, alabaster
Gesture 2020
2020Reworked sculpture from my older work Argument. Birchwood.
Approach 2020

Lad (Young man) 2020
2020Small sculpture, teak, 16 cm high, simple pose
Sjaman 2020
2020The statue of Samaan originated from a small block of Mahagonny, starting with a single incision. From there, a division into blocks grew that were ultimately interpreted as a mystical figure.
Connection 2019
2019Out of a flat piece of teak wood a partly abstract couple developed.
Boat 2019
2019This image of pink alabaster originated entirely from the rough form. When it was finished I searched for a suitable title, it eventually became Boot.
Character 2019
2019A small sculpture made of Jade
Toros 2019
2019A torso is always a closed block, that's how it started. But it is cut out of alabaster which is translucent and that creates a conflict. That is why I decided to break through the massiveness and the light transmittance. The hole was created in the soft part of the torso, this emphasizes the parts below and above it.
Overhang
2019An abstract shape that can be interpreted to your own insight. The forward-leaning shape was the inspiration for the name.
Burden
2019Burden shows a slender figure that has to carry an enormous weight. It is an image of opposites: coarse versus fine, soft versus hard, indifferent to sensitive. The image originated from the feeling, without a preconceived plan.
Brainspin
2019Brainspin came into being when the form that developed in the stem was reminiscent of winding brain tissue, which well fitted in with the feeling that the image evoked in me: emerging from the depths of consciousness.
Gathering
2018A small sculpture, composed of 4 abstracted figures that are arranged as a group that gathers together.
metamorphosis
2018A tomb with nudity as a theme, hence the inscription: "born naked, now in paradisum". The theme is represented by two figures, one lying down, earthy and figurative, the other rising and spiritualized. Made on behalf of, and intended for, a Belgian pastor.
Heads
2018The sculpture heads is cut from teak, the result is treated with teak oil. The name was assigned when the piece was finished, it was one of my impressions, but it also has something like a boat with people, or a conversation.
Helpless 2108
2018The sculpture is made of Whamani Verde from Zimbabwe. The form came up during the work process and inspired me to the title Helpless.
Look
2018Two marble stones from the river in Seravezza, Italy, form the basis of this sculpture, one pure white, the other grayish. The upper, white stone is pierced from three sides in places that have already been marked on the stone formed by the river, the bottom stone acts as a support and keeps an eye on the upper one.
Receptive
2018The marble sculpture Receptive is essentially abstract, but gives the suggestion of a reclining human shape, a female figure, that opens up to her surroundings. As with much of my work, this sculpture has arisen without a preconceived idea and the interpretation is retrospective.
Rising
2018Rising is a teak sculpture on a pedestal of blue stone in which the dynamic rise, such as a snake or an erection, is expressed, with the tension that goes with it.
Hello
2017A small sculpture of alabaster from the area of Volterra, Italy, with a waving man as subject.
Musician
2017The sculpture of marble, 31 cm high, has a form that evokes associations with music and its performers. The marble is white Statuario with a pedestal of Dolomite.
Moving
2017This 1 - 2 cm thin Onyx stone started its life as a broken-off piece of an earlier sculpture, the fracture is now the back of the new sculpture. The diagonal drawing corresponds to that of the earlier Cirkel sculpture, and served as the starting point for the developed shape.
Circle
2017Circle is a sculpture made of Onyx on a base of Bluestone. The name is kept vague, allowing the spectator for a multitude of interpretations.
Torso 2017
2017Small sculpture made of Heliotrope (Bloodstone) on a base of Dolomite. The original shape of the (very hard) stone is retained, with only small modifications, resulting in a torso.
Walking
2017Walking is a sculpture made of a small piece Apatite from the USA through a spontaneous manipulation where pretty soon a shape became manifest in which the creator recognized the act of Walking.
Petrified Wood
2017Petrified Life is a sculpture made of a piece of petrified wood. The petrified wood has been left intact as much as possible, the interferencesextract a shape from it meant to provide access for the viewer to the life that caught within the stone.
Flying Object
2017Flying Object is a combination of a bowl formed by two white marble blocks in which an object of colorful onix is located. The combination rests on a base of granite.
Bass Player
2017Small, sculpture of white marble, made without prior intention and resulting in a shape that to me refers to a musicien playing the bass.
Clamp
2017Sculpture of the very hard quartzite, a raw stone from Norway with its own beautiful shape, which I tried to enforce by making a cavity.
Penetration
2017The stone, black alabaster, originated from a former sculpture that was broken. Out of the remaining thin shape a shell developed, breached by another shape. It could be a sperm cell entering an egg cell. Ultimately it's about the dynamics and the tension between the inside and the outside.
Enclosed Space
2017The sculpture is made from a trunk of which the affected heart had to be removed. Around the remaining void the final sculpture developed, referring to a female and a male shape merging into each other and forming a whole with the enclosed space.
Satyr
2016This sculpture refers to satyrs, a character from Greec mythology. A satyr is a merry and naughty forest creature, belonging to the cortege of the god Dinoysos, its task is that of a fertility god. An erect penis is one of its physical characteristics. The shape started as a hole in a piece of pear wood and developed slowly to a dancing satyr.
Shields
2016A male torso interpreted as front and back shields, focussing on buttocks and masculinity. Material: acrylate composite.
Male Female Crossing MFX
2016In MFX two shapes cross each other, a stylized male and a female shape. Their crossing is a dynamic encounter causing tension to what might happen. The sculpture is carved from Bardiglio marble form Italy, where the raw shape was produced, which has been finished at home.
Next to You
2016Two rising shapes that approach each other, without touching, however.
Torso
2016A thin curved shape with the suggestion of a male torso.
Turning point
2016A shape of aerated concrete covered with a layer of acryl-one. The solid material of the concrete forms the base, the layer of plastic is applied on top of this and can be processed as stone. The concrete is still visible in the end result within the 'eye'.
Double v2
2016The stone, Bardiglio marble, comes from the yard of the studio in Ttaly where I work, it was a rest piece with a shape that inspired me. The sculpture 'Double' from 2014 broke when it had to be relocated, hence I adapted it to the new situation. The result is 'Double version 2'. I could have given it a new name, but decide to keep the old one, as a reference, but also because it still fits
Incision
2016I started with a stone twice as large (see the Start photo), but it decided at a certain moment to break in the middle. From the resulting three fragments I combined two, with Incision as the result. The name Incision refers to the cut in the larger fragment. This cut strengthens the tension of the curved surface that splits open, just as the skin under the scalpel of the surgeon.
DNA
2015The sculpture 'DNA' is made of a trunk of juniper wood. During cutting it appeared that the branches turned around the trunk in a spiral, which gave the inspiration for this sculpture with the name DNA.
Satisfaction
2015Satisfaction is the expression of a sense, a sense that is focusing inside the body, but at the same time visible to the outer world.
Union
2015A double torso, male and female, unified in a single dynamic shape.
Balance
2014A small sculpture of a stretched figure of white marble, balancing on a base of rough blue stone.
Oracle
2014A stylized head with a magical iradiance in translucent selenite.
Outburst
2014A trunk of maple transformed into an ablazed young man, splits and branches acted as clues.
Flight
2014The sculpture grew completely from the stone, the raw shape and structure and the cleavages in the stone determined the shape at first, the further devlopment was the result of a dialogue between the stone en me.
Man with cat - 2
2014This sculpture is the second version of a sculpture from 2010, that didn't satisfy me anymore. The reworking was tougher than I expected and took half a year, with the final result I am reasonably happy.
Mating
2013Mating is de intimate meeting of two bodies. The shape of the bodies is inspired by those of the graceful mantras.
Tree of life
2013Tree of life expresses some shapes and symbols of life.
Coming Out
2013Nothing to hide.
Ritual
2012Three blue stone colums, a central symbol flanked by two youngsters.
Introspection
2012A sculpture hewn from a single block of Statuario marble. The shape of the original stone is still visible in the base, thus showing the figure freed from the stone.
Yin Yang 2
2009This sculpture is about complementary contrapositions, like open - closed, male - female. The sculpture delimits a space, which despite not being closed, has abstract and figurative elements of raw and polished material. It is made of a beautiful piece of white marble on a plinth of stainless steel and measures 85 cm high. At the beginning of 2012 the piece was damaged, but has now been fully restored.
Winding up
20122011. Polished blue stone. A double figure within a circular shape. The name Winding up refers to the shape and the tension this achieves within.
Kiss me
2011"Kiss me" is cut from Carrara Stauario marble. The shape is the result of the dialogue between the stone and myself. The spectator may interpret it in his/her own way.
Awakening
2011Statuario marble - Carrara (Italy), 22 cm high on a 5 cm high bluestone plinth. A small piece of marble, leftover from a large project, has been transformed into this organic sculpture. The marble is so thin in places that it appears transparant.
Intimate senses
2011April 2011, birch, steel plinth, 30cm high. The intimate stimulation when caressing the erogenous zone.
Dichotomy
2011The sculpture is made of Obsidian (Vulcanic glass), a new type of stone for me. The stone can be worked with a chisel, but splinters easily, scattering sharp pieces of glass. Whilst working on the stone it broke into two pieces, giving me the inspiration for the title. The finnish was achieved with a spiked hammer, the textured surface contrasts with the smooth surfaces of the original fracture.
Young
2011Carrara Statuario marble, Italy, 51 cm high. Finished January 2011. Repaired and modified january 2017.
Unfolding
2010The sculpture is made of a flat piece of marble that varies in thickness from very thin to about 25 cm. The figure emerges from the flat surface in a unfolding movement that continues into the background. The sculpture is 80 cm high and mounted on a steel frame, the total height is 180 cm.
Fragments
2010An abstract composition made of selenite (natural gypsum). The material is soft and translucent when polished. It consists of three pieces on a steel base.
Concave and convex
2010An abstracted couple, made of marble.
Broken relationship
2010The stone is Azul macaubas, a light blue coloured type of granite. The sculpture began as one piece but while working on it the stone almost immediately split into two parallel pieces, which were combined again to form a single sculpture with the fracture surface in between. The photo only shows one side, the other side is also a laying figure, but seen from the back. This way both figures together form a couple.
Harlekino
2010Made of a fallen acacia tree found in my neighbourhood. The shape of the trunk was my inspiration to this figure. The final carving was done by hand.
Inside / Outside
2010The stone is white translucent alabaster. It was sawn from a round chunk, still showing the rough edge on one side. The worked edges have been transformed to a shape showing the inside and the outside flowing into each other.
Interwoven
2009The sculpture is made of a small piece of translucent onyx and consists of two forms that appear interwoven.
Growth
2009Hand cut lime wood. It shows shapes aiming upwards, symbolising growth.
Stream (panta rhei)
2009The stone is olivine (Chinese marble) in a striking green colour. The body shown suggests a stream flowing down a mountain. The back of the sculpture remains in its rough state.
Dancer
2009Hand cut birch wood. In some areas small defects in the wood have been replaced with artificial resin.
Torso
2009Originally a rough piece of pinewood, which has been sanded till smooth. Its loose structure evolved into a soft flowing shape.
Spectator
2008Hand cut birch wood.
Pelican
2008Smoothly sanded beech wood
Escape - shaken off the past
2008One of my bigger marble sculptures, 110 cm high. The cutting was started in Seravezza, Italy, in 2006 but was finished in my studio at home in 2008. The sculpture is based on a simple clay model. The sloping top is the original fracture surface of the stone.
Feminine
2008Smoothly sanded birch wood, finished with a transparent varnish.
Warrior
2008Smoothly sanded beech wood. Made from a branch of lengthwise cut wood that was left behind in the forest. It's back shows splits where the wood has dried out.
Dialogue
2008Smoothly sanded beech wood. Two separate shapes that when placed together form a dialogue.
